Get Out More CIC

"Get Out More helps people engage with nature to feel better in mind and body"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Get Out More is a social enterprise on a mission to help people engage with nature to feel better in mind and body.  We run outdoor programmes, including forest schools, outdoor play and community engagement programmes, for people of all ages across West and North Yorkshire.  We use local woodlands, parks and natural spaces to bring people together, be active and feel good, working towards our vision:

Communities and nature growing healthier together.

We believe passionately in the capacity of the outdoor environment to bring people together and improve health and wellbeing.  As a community interest company our goal is to extend opportunities to those at risk of poor physical and mental health in particular people from disadvantaged backgrounds and people affected by poverty, disability, addiction, homelessness, isolation and depression and to

to make a surplus to reinvest in woodland conservation.

What We Do

Get Out More runs outdoor programmes for groups, schools, communities and businesses, addressing the need to improve physical health and mental wellbeing through engaging with nature. Programmes include;

Forest school  – outdoor play and learning in a woodland setting

Community  -connecting people to nature spaces on their doorstep

Wellbeing - acccessing nature to feel good in mind and body

Outdoor Learning – bringing learning to life with engaging outdoor experiences

Training - developing outdoor skills to share with others

Get Out More addresses the need to improve physical health and mental wellbeing, particularly in disadvantaged and marginalised communities.  There is strong research evidence to demonstrate that exposure to natural environments leads to positive outcomes for mental health and use of natural environments is associated with higher levels of physical activity.  Our work connects local communities with the green spaces on their doorstep, helping communities be more active, feel more socially connected and develop lasting healthy relationships and lifestyles.
