We have a passion to see lives changed- for young people to be given the best life chances and opportunities. We believe that regeneration and better futures can come about by encouraging young people to become resilent, confident and happy; providing opportunities, training and employment; raising aspirations and dreams for the future; offering exciting and creative projects, and creating a sense of local pride and community.
Ykids is committed to Bootle and its young people for the long haul- we want to invest our time, money and effort to support our young people so that they can grow up to change the world.

Education
Ykids works with schools to deliver a wide range of workshops, programs and assemblies. See here for our current workshops and to download our catalogue. As well as our short term programs, Ykids can work with schools to support pastoral care for pupils. Feel free to contact us to discuss your school's needs and how Ykids might help.
Youth & Children
Ykids works with children & young people our goal is to be a presence throughout young lives, in a variety of settings with young people able to access a range of support, activities and experiences.
Families
Ykids works alongside families in different ways, from accessing support from other agencies, to peer mentoring and peer support groups and projects for the whole family to attend.

Faith
Ykids has a Christian ethos and therefore some of our work is with local (and some not so local) churches. Our Christian work is distinct from our community work and has different aims. See here for more details.
Enterprise
Ykids seeks to become a more self sustaining charity. We do this through Social Enterprise businesses. We have a cafe, North Perk; a cooking business, Not Just Cooking; and a bee keeping enterprise with young people.
Community
We love our community, and there is nothing better than getting people together for fun activities! Community projects are a great way for our young people to get involved as volunteers too. We usually host an annual community project once a year, in the past we've done fun days, street play, garden clear ups, mural painting and more.
We also work with families in our community, supporting them to access services and information to become a stronger family unit.

Our young bee keepers came up with the idea of Sponsor A Bee to raise money for the beekeeping project and for Ykids as a whole. This has opened up a whole new set of opportunities for young people to learn skills and hands on experience in running a bee keeping enterprise.
