Simon on the Streets
"We offer unlimited emotional and practical support for homeless and vulnerable people."
Simon on the Streets is an independent charity that offers unlimited emotional and practical support for homeless and vulnerable people to enable them to achieve their goals.
All our services are delivered on an outreach basis across Leeds & Bradford, directly on the streets, ensuring that we are supporting those individuals that are street homeless and may not be engaging with other services.
We recognise that emotional support has a high-value and understand that building a quality relationship with service users will underpin any support given. We want to support an individual to achieve their own goals and aspirations whatever they may be.
' Thank you for just talking to me. No one ever talks to me... they just tell me to get a job. But they don't understand its just not that easy. Thank you for just chatting it means a lot.' See more responses from our service users here.

All of our work is done on an outreach basis, on the street or inside services, aiming to:
Our staff work tirelessly to make sure rough sleepers in across Leeds & Bradford know that there is someone to provide the emotional support they experience life without. We provide support for those with barriers to engage with other services. With concentration on supporting entrenched rough sleepers and the rootless community.
Refusal for help can occur for a range of legitimate reasons including a distrust originating from repeated failures in the past, severe undiagnosed mental health issues, a drug or alcohol dependency (normally manifested as a result of a mental health issue) a fear of being found or a sense of having given up or not feeling deserving of support.
We understand how scary it must be to find yourself on the street with nowhere to turn. We also recognise many are not equipped with the right advice that if a person encounters a rough sleeper. Hopefully, the information on this page will be enough to get someone the initial guidance that they need. We will obviously follow up all information passed to us but for those times when we cannot be there, please make use of the information here.
