Dawlish Rocks

"We're an adult community choir with attitude, bringing people together learning and performing songs"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

COVID-19 UPDATE: Currently the choir are not meeting due to the social distancing restrictions. However, we are offering fun singing sessions online that are free to access every Wednesday evening until further notice: Please visit for more information and free booking link.

Dawlish Rocks was formed in September 2017. We are a growing group of adults of all ages and abilities who enjoy learning and performing rock and pop songs together. The group is a great place to make new friends, improve your physical and mental health and boost your confidence in a friendly and fun group. The music making and social aspects of the group are equally important and we pride ourselves on a "work hard, play hard" attitude.

Dawlish Rocks runs roughly in line with local school term times with three terms of eleven sessions a year. We also have public performances and special social events/parties for members and friends.

What We Do

Dawlish Rocks can help you in many ways....

Do you want to make new friends? We already have many members of different ages and backgrounds so you are sure to meet someone that you click with. We have a lot of laughs in our rehearsals and always go to the pub afterwards, so you will soon get to know new people.

Do you want to develop your confidence / musical skills? We always sing together so nobody feels singled out and you don't need any particular skills or experience to join this non-auditioned group. Everyone's welcome and you'll find your voice and your confidence growing week on week.

Do you want to improve your physical / mental health? There's nothing like singing in a group to improve your sense of well being. Much research now points to the many physical and mental health benefits of singing with others. Come along and try it for yourself.

We only have two rules in our choir:

If it hurts, stop it! (Sit down, move, get a drink, nip to the loo, take a few minutes out if you need to!)

What happens in choir stays in choir (Feel free to let your voice out, dance like a loony, have a cry or share with the group in the knowledge that we won't be telling anyone else about it. Choir is a safe place to just be you)

We're always looking for more singers, so come along for a free trial session and see if it's for you.

No, I'm really not up for singing, is there something else I can do to help?

Sometimes we could do with some help taking photos or filming the group

Help us to spread the word in the Dawlish area about our group and events

Extra hands are always useful when we have local events

Do you have any good ideas as to where the choir could sing locally?
