What We Do

The Gateway Club

The National Federation of Gateway Clubs is a leisure organisation for people with a learning disability run by Mencap.  In Bridport the club is organised and run by volunteers under the West Dorset Mencap committee.  The Gateway Club meets fortnightly in Bridport WI Hall and offers a fun and varied programme of activities including discos and singing workshops.

Grants

Funds that are raised by West Dorset Mencap are used to support people and organisations in West Dorset.  If you are organising a community event which will support people with learning disabilities then we would like to help.  Additionally we are keen to support individuals living within our area for any equipment or travelling needs they may have.  We invite people to apply for a grant if they have a need which West Dorset Mencap may be able to assist with.

To apply for a grant please complete our Grant Application Form and return to our shop, 54 East Street, Bridport, DT6 3LL.  Grant applications are reviewed at our bi-monthly committee meetings.
