Mid Kent Mind
"Supporting people with mental health problems"
We are Mid Kent Mind and we are passionate about supporting people with mental health issues. We believe in recognising people as unique individuals and not as a diagnosis or a label. We aim to equip people with the tools they need to work towards positive wellbeing.
Mid Kent Mind offer a wide range of services which are available to communities in Maidstone, Ashford and Swale. These services include, but are not limited to those which can be found below:
Wellbeing Groups
Our Community Activity Groups provide safe, welcoming and engaging spaces where you can connect with your peers, partake in fun wellbeing activities, and also learn more about the wider support available. We provide a wide range of groups – including walking sessions, Arts & Crafts sessions, and more.
Coping with Life Courses
Our Coping with Life courses are 3-week long structured programmes which utilise Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) techniques to empower you with new coping strategies that support your mental health and wellbeing. These sessions provide a great opportunity to reflect on and improve your wellbeing.
Youth CBC Courses
Our CBC courses for Young People help them to learn more about common areas of mental health including anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem and anger management. These courses help to equip young people with a better understanding of mental health so that they have the tools they need to thrive.
Mental Health Training
Our training team provide a wide range of different courses – many of which are available free-of-charge for members of the public. These training opportunities including Suicide Prevention & Awareness Training, Everyday Mental Health training, Mental Health Awareness training and more. This is all part of a wider work to tackle the stigma wrongly associated with mental health.
Affordable Counselling Service
Our Affordable Counselling service provides a safe space and time where people can talk about their thoughts and feelings – giving them a weekly opportunity to offload and get things off of their chest. This service is available for £20 per session, and provides an opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
