Community Group

Sustainable Bishop

"A group actively trying to get the community responding to climate change and environmental threat"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

We are a small group aiming to host events within the community to raise awareness of climate change and threats to the natural environment. We have a number of projects which promote sustainable living. This can be anything from hosting a repair cafe or a sustainable supper to community gardening and waste rethinking ! We are on the Plastic Free journey with Surfers against Sewage, have started a Hedgehog Highways Group and have sewing projects using waste fabric and turning into tote bags and reusable face coverings

Volunteer

We are currently seeking active volunteers who want to help with any aspect of sustainability. This may be creating a local car share scheme, plastics waste collection, community gardening .... the list goes on and on. We are hosting a repair cafe and would love to hear from anyone who is able to FIX things e.g. textiles, computers, garden tools, bikes, ceramics etc.

If you have an idea that you would like to get off the ground, please get in touch.
