Ourside Youth Association

"Charity responding to the changing challenges and issues facing young people in our community."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Charity responding to the changing challenges and issues facing young people in our community. Youth led to the core we provide free support and activities.

We understand the importance of having a place to go that you can rely on with someone to talk to who listens.

The youth centre provides a safe and welcoming space for anyone aged 11 to 19, or up to 25 for those with a disability, offering open access sessions alongside targeted youth work. As the only dedicated youth centre in the area our youth workers see approximately 100 young people every week.

Our outreach work takes us into the local area and schools providing pop-up youth clubs and services such as substance awareness sessions and sexual health clinics.

Across our social channels we provide a safe space for young people to check in, get involved and stay connected.

Ourside strives to empower Young People to develop as individuals and enjoy new challenges enabling them to make a positive contribution to their Communities.

The Ourside ethos is both genuine and strong. We work with young people focusing on self- esteem and self- awareness, self -efficacy, life skills and agency.

Supporting young people to believe in their own capabilities and working to instil a sense of confidence not only provides young people with the capacity to act independently and make their own free choices but also allows the young people to bring about a future that they wish for.
