Students Union at Bournemouth University
"Helping connect student volunteers to local community action and projects"
The Students Union has helped students to find volunteering opportunities in the local, national and international community for many years. We have collaborated with many charity and not for profit partners to help them with specific projects. Our students love getting out in Dorset and helping with projects like wildlife conservation and beach cleans, as well as finding roles within charity retail and administration. Our students are especially good at computing, IT, and media and communications.
As a charity or not for profit organisation, you can register your charity on the SUBU volunteering hub here.
Your charity will be listed for students to see here.
Once you have registered, you can list any of your current volunteering opportunities, which will appear here.
This is a free service. Once students apply for your volunteering opportunity, you will be able to contact the student by email or phone, to tell them more about your volunteering opportunity and how they can take the next steps to get involved.
We are particularly keen to develop Student Led Projects. If you would like to speak to a member of the Student Opportunities Team at the Students Union, please email [email protected], with details of your organisation and your proposed project. We will be happy to speak to you to explore the possibilities of developing a project and/or collaboration which will benefit student volunteers and people living in the community.
If you are a student at Bournemouth University, you can register your interest in becoming a volunteer on the SUBU Volunteering Hub here.
You can view lots of different local and national charities that are registered on the hub here.
You can browse volunteering opportunities listed by local charities and not for profit organisations here.
If you like the sound of a volunteering opportunity you can 'apply', and will be sent further information on how to contact the charity and get involved in the volunteering opportunity.
If you are a Bournemouth University Student and you would like to become a Student Volunteer Project Leader, please email [email protected], and we will send you further details about how you can get involved.
