Sustainable South Brent

"Creating a resilient low-carbon community where all life thrives"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

We're a  charity completely run by volunteers, who've been working together since 2006 to help make South Brent (and our world) an even better place to live. We've got lots of inspirational projects covering Waste, Nature, Energy, Transport, and Food and Land. We also have a Community School Garden and a Young Adult Ambassador scheme, especially for 16-21 years olds.  Each project is run by a friendly group of local people,  who warmly welcome new volunteers. For details of each area and ways to contact projects, check out our website: ssb.org.uk. We're also on Facebook (@sustainablesouthbrent), Twitter and Instagram.  Come and join us, and help make a difference.

"I joined SSB as a Young Adult Ambassador because being part of a community that is seeking to create a more sustainable way of living is really important to me. I am proud of where I live and I want to ensure future generations can also be proud of their homes and green spaces".   (Eleanor)

What We Do

Whether you're suffering from eco-anxiety,  are looking for ways to help nature, reduce your carbon footprint, want to link with like-minded people, or just help keep the village tidy, we can help!  You can sign up to our twice-monthly short 'newsflashes', giving lots of tips, advice on positive actions we can take, and  information about local activities, plus a twice-yearly more detailed newsletter. New volunteers are always really welcome. Taking action, at whatever level suits you, is great for mental and physical health- and really does help make a difference for our community and our world.

We're also very happy to share with other groups (whether established or just setting up) about what we're doing  and what we've learnt over the years.
