EDAS
"Supporting adults and young people with mental health and substance misuse issues"
EDAS provides support to adults and young people affected by alcohol, illicit substances, and over-the-counter or prescribed medication misuse and/or experiencing mental distress. Our 50+ years of experience enables us to provide services that are delivered with empathy, professionalism, and credibility. On a daily basis, we offer one-to-one support, group work, education, and family support and work towards positive outcomes for the individual, their families and the wider community.
You may have a substance misuse problem or be suffering from mental distress yourself or be supporting someone who does. Experiencing addiction and/or mental health issues can be a traumatic and life-changing event. People often describe feeling shocked, angry, frustrated, scared, isolated and in need of support, and often unsure what to do for the best or where to turn for help. EDAS can help and provide support to turn things around and make positive life changes.
We offer low-cost counselling sessions with trained and experienced therapists. Our counsellors will provide a safe space for you to talk through your issues in a confidential, non-judgemental and trusting environment. You will be listened to with empathy and work together with your therapist to learn new skills and reach your goals.
Sessions are available face-to-face or via telephone or video call.
We also offer some reduced-cost options for those who struggle to pay.

We seek to make professional therapeutic support that is affordable, flexible and accessible to those who need it.
Our therapists are discreet, understanding, and knowledgeable in their field and will work with you on whatever issues you are facing. We cover a range of issues including stress, anxiety, substance misuse, relationships, changing behaviour, and much more.
These are some of the different ways EDAS can support you:
