DESCRIPTION:The ethos of Black History Month is to educate people on the achievements and contributions African and Caribbean heritage peoples have made to the UK’s history and culture. \n​Black History Month UK was the brainchild of Akyaaba Addai-Sebo\, a special projects officer at the Greater London Council. He wanted to boost the self-esteem of Black British children and young adults by educating on them on the achievements of Black people living in the UK. \nThe month has since evolved into a celebration of black history and culture that spans across multiple countries! \nThe theme for the month is ‘Legacies with Action: Understanding 60 Years of Change and Challenge.’  2025 marks 60 years since the UK’s first Race Relations Act — a landmark moment in the ongoing journey towards racial justice and equality. \n​ \n#BHM2025 #BlackHistoryMonth \nSource: IBHM-UK|Black History Month UK 2025 Theme – Legacies of Action
