SUMMARY:National Marine Week
DESCRIPTION:Contrary to the title\, National Marine Week is celebrated for a fortnight from July 24th to August 8th to appreciate the magnificent sea animals and plants that exist in the United Kingdom on a national scale. \nDuring #NationalMarineWeek\, people from all over the United Kingdom may come out to explore their local shoreline as the retreating sea reveals its treasures. Take time out to protect and appreciate marine life for the next two weeks. \nNational Marine Week was organized to motivate people to better understand and care for the ocean. The holiday encourages us to appreciate and protect our oceans. During National Marine Week\, people take time to focus on how vital the oceans are to humanity\, given that they constitute the largest ecosystem on the planet. In addition to containing 97% of the planet’s water\, they also make up 80% of the planet’s biodiversity\, with more than 30\,000 species. \nSource: NATIONAL MARINE WEEK – July 24\, 2025 – National Today \n

SUMMARY:World Breastfeeding Week
DESCRIPTION:#WBW2025 will focus on environment and climate change. It will highlight our roles in supporting breastfeeding to create a sustainable environment while simultaneously reducing the impact of climate change caused by artificial feeding. \n#Breastfeeding can act as an equaliser in our society and efforts must be made to ensure everyone has access to breastfeeding support and opportunities. It is essential that no-one is left behind especially vulnerable mothers who may need additional support to reduce breastfeeding inequalities. \nTarget audiences including governments\, policymakers\, workplaces\, communities and parents will be engaged to play their critical roles in empowering families and sustaining breastfeeding-friendly environments in the post-pandemic work life. The theme is aligned with thematic area 4 of the WBW-SDG 2030 campaign. \n\n\n\n\nWBW-SDG CAMPAIGN\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBreastfeeding is a natural\, renewable food that is environmentally safe. Breastfeeding is produced and delivered without pollution\, packaging or waste and is the sustainable solution that is good for the planet and its people. Prioritising and supporting breastfeeding will reduce the growing climate impact of artificial infant feed supply chains. However\, breastfeeding can be challenging when parents are not fully supported. WBW2025 will outline the roles and connect the actors in the Warm Chain of Support for Breastfeeding to create a breastfeeding-friendly environment together at all levels; national\, health\, workplace and community. By connecting the actors working at different levels\, a synergistic effort to support the parents will be in place. \n#EnablingBreastfeeding #EmpoweringParentsCampaign #BreastfeedingSupport \n\nSource: World Breastfeeding Week 2025 – Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create sustainable support systems

SUMMARY:Single Working Women's Day
DESCRIPTION:Single Working Women’s Day takes place on the 4th of August. Celebrated annually\, this day recognises and honours the contributions of single working women to society. It highlights their strength\, resilience\, and the unique challenges they face while balancing work\, family\, and personal life. This day is an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and raise awareness about the support and resources they need. \nSingle Working Women’s Day acknowledges the hard work and dedication of single women who juggle multiple responsibilities. These women often serve as the primary breadwinners for their families while managing household duties and personal commitments. The day also sheds light on the systemic issues that single working women encounter\, such as wage gaps\, workplace discrimination\, and the lack of adequate childcare support. \nThroughout the day\, various activities and events are organised to celebrate single working women. These may include workshops\, seminars\, and networking events aimed at empowering women and providing them with valuable resources. Organisations and communities often come together to host appreciation events\, where single working women are recognised and celebrated for their contributions. \n#SingleWorkingWomensDay #WomenEmpowerment #SingleWorkingWomen #CelebrateWomen #WomenInWorkforce #SupportSingleWomen #WomenAchievements #SingleMothers \nSource: Single Working Women’s Day | Awareness Days

SUMMARY:National Opportunity Day
DESCRIPTION:Imagine a world where setbacks are simply stepping stones. A world where a change in direction is not seen as failure\, but as an opportunity to discover hidden talents and uncover new passions. This is the world we invite you to explore on #NationalOpportunityDay on 6th August. It’s a world where limitations are shattered\, and aspirations are embraced. \nWhether it’s vocational training\, apprenticeships\, work-based learning\, or pursuing an alternative higher education path\, National Opportunity Day celebrates all these options and more. SUMMARY:International Dog Day
DESCRIPTION:International Dog Day is a special celebration of all dogs around the world and the companionship and loyalty that they show to us. \nDogs truly are ‘man’s best friend’\, and #InternationalDogDay is a fantastic opportunity to showcase what these special animals do to keep us safe\, guide us\, and bring us joy. If you think about all the roles our furry friends play in our communities\, it really is quite incredible! They have quite remarkable abilities\, often sacrificing their own safety to selflessly protect the most vulnerable in our society. They work with law enforcement\, emergency services\, the army\, and individuals that may need additional help\, like those who are partially sighted or who need extra support. Not to mention\, they consistently show us unconditional love and unending comfort\, and brighten up our ‘ruff’ days with their waggy tails and goofy smiles. They’re not only super cute\, but they’re extremely useful\, and humans and dogs have a long and special relationship that has evolved over thousands of years of cooperation\, trust\, and kinship. \nInternational Dog Day raises awareness\, too\, of the significance of rescuing our furry friends\, as there are so many dogs in the world that are in need of a stable home\, and a loving family. The day can act as a gentle reminder for us to try and help these exceptional animals where we can. Sadly\, many rescue centres and dog shelters are fit to burst with abandoned dogs\, often for reasons through no fault of their own. Although it’s not a decision to be taken lightly – pups\, and training and looking after a ‘new best friend’ can be a lot of work! – rescuing instead of buying from a pet store or a breeder can be so\, so rewarding. \n#DogShelter #HappyDogDay #DogRescue #DoggyDay #InternationalDogDay2025 #AdoptDontShop \n  \nSource: International Dog Day | 26th August 2025 | Twinkl – Twinkl

SUMMARY:National Grief Awareness Day
DESCRIPTION:National Grief Awareness Day\, also known as National Bereavement Day\, is recognised annually on August 30th. It was founded in 2014 by Angie Cartwright\, a woman who experienced the loss of many of her loved ones. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the different ways in which grief can manifest in our lives. \nAugust 30th is an opportunity to realize that everyone copes with loss differently and to learn how to help yourself and others through the grieving process. You can observe #NationalGriefAwarenessDay no matter what type of loss you’ve been through. \nSome common reasons people experience grief include: \n\n\nThe death of a loved one \n\n\nA divorce\, breakup\, or other separation \n\n\nGetting fired from a job or losing a promotion \n\n\nLosing one’s business or livelihood \n\n\nLearning about a chronic illness or condition \n\n\nLosing financial stability \n\n\nThe death of a pet \n\n\nImprisonment \n\n\nA child leaving home \n\n\nPregnancy or loss of pregnancy \n\n\nEach of these is a valid reason for grieving. However\, grief can often be hard to understand. National Grief Awareness Day recognizes the challenges of comforting someone in grief and seeks to eliminate barriers that can prevent empathy\, patience\, and understanding. \nIn addition\, National Grief Awareness Day is important because it encourages people everywhere to support themselves and their loved ones through the #Grieving process\, no matter what. By raising awareness about grief with factual information and encouraging open lines of communication\, people everywhere can hope to receive better support\, care\, and comfort as they try to heal. \nSource:  What is National Grief Awareness Day & Why Does it Matter? | BetterHelp
