SUMMARY:LGBT+ History Month
DESCRIPTION:LGBT+ History Month is a month that’s important to us. Celebrating all parts of who we are is vital to the fight for mental health. And this month\, we’re doing just that. \nIt’s a month when we can all remember the people who fought for LGBTQIA+ rights in the past. A chance for people of all ages to learn more about the rich history of LGBTQIA+ communities. And a moment to remember just how far we’ve come over the years. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLGBTQIA+ mental health\nLGBT+ History Month is also a moment to lift up people’s stories about their mental health. \nBeing LGBTQIA+ does not cause mental health problems. But some things you may go through as an LGBTQIA+ person can make you more likely to experience a mental health problem. \nSome things you may go through if you’re LGBTQIA+ include: \n\nHomophobia\, biphobia and transphobia\nExperiences of stigma and discrimination\nDifficult experiences of coming out\nSocial isolation\, exclusion and rejection\n‘Conversion therapy’\nDifficulties getting the healthcare you need for reasons such as discrimination\, or long waiting lists for gender treatment if you’re trans\n\nIn fact\, because of these issues LGBTQIA+ people are 2 to 3 times more likely to experience a mental health problem. \nAnd many young people experience a lack of inclusive environments – from home to school and beyond. Nearly a quarter of young people who are at risk of homelessness identify as LGBTQIA+. \nThe impact that discrimination and isolation has on the mental health of LGBTQIA+ people is clear\, and avoidable. That’s why we all need to do more to make sure things change – for the better. \nPlease remember you’re not alone. \nIf you’re LGBTQIA+ and are finding things tough\, we have information and tips for you. And a list of places where you can get support below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSource:  Celebrating LGBT+ History Month | Campaigns | Mind \n

SUMMARY:World Cancer Day
DESCRIPTION:World Cancer Day is held every year on the 4th of February\, and it aims to raise international awareness concerning all types of cancer\, those who suffer from it\, and prevention and treatment. \nCreated in 2000\, World Cancer Day has grown into a positive movement for everyone\, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history. \nEach year\, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world\, gathering communities\, organisations and individuals in schools\, businesses\, hospitals\, marketplaces\, parks\, community halls\, places of worship – in the streets and online – acting as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer. \nThe World Cancer Day theme 2025-2027\, “United by Unique” places people at the centre of care and explores new ways of making a difference.    \nCancer is more than just a medical diagnosis—it’s a deeply personal matter. Behind every diagnosis lies a unique human story – stories of grief\, pain\, healing\, resilience\, love and more.  \nThat’s why a people-centred approach to cancer care that fully integrates each individual’s unique needs\, with compassion and empathy\, leads to the best health outcomes.  \nEvery experience with cancer is unique and it will take all of us\, united\, to create a world where we look beyond the disease and see the person before the patient. A world where the needs of people and communities are at the centre of health systems. \n#WorldCancerDay #UnitedByUnique #CancerAwareness #CancerResearch #CancerCare \nSource: https://www.worldcancerday.org/about-us  \n

SUMMARY:Children's Mental Health Week
DESCRIPTION:This week from the 9th-15th  February it’s Children’s Mental Health Week\, which was established to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. \nThe theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 is ‘This is My Place’\, and our aim is to support the systems around children and young people to help them feel they belong. \nWe know that our sense of belonging as individuals\, in our friendships\, in school\, and in communities plays a vital role in our mental health and wellbeing. \nTo know our place and really feel part of our environment is a basic human need. When we feel that we belong\, it empowers us to contribute to the world and make a real difference. \nThis year\, Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week will aim to support the groups and systems surrounding our children. We’ll encourage peers\, families\, schools and communities to create inclusive and nurturing environments\, where children and young people feel they belong and can say “This is My Place”. \n#ChildrensMentalHealthWeek #KnowYourselfGrowYourself #Place2Be #MentalHealthMatters #ChildrensMentalHealth \nSource: Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week – Official site

SUMMARY:Stand Up to Bullying Day
DESCRIPTION:Today\, 27th February\, is Stand Up to Bullying Day\, launched in 2016 with the support of HRH The Duke of Cambridge. The day seeks to bring the nation together to take a collective stand against all forms of bullying\, whether in school\, the workplace\, online or elsewhere. Bullying can have lasting effects on a person’s psyche\, and it is important to recognize instances of bullying and put an end to them immediately. \nOne of the main tenets of Stand Up to Bullying Day is calling out others when their actions are unkind. So standing up to bullying isn’t as simple as not being a part of the problem\, what’s imperative is having the courage to call out others. Standing up means being an upstander\, not a bystander. \n#AntiBullying #BeKind #AlwaysBeKind #CyberBullying \n  \nSource: INTERNATIONAL STAND UP TO BULLYING DAY – February 27\, 2026 – National Today \n  \n  \n  \n
