Social isolation is one of the biggest issues facing our ageing population, and we cannot ignore the impact this has on mental and physical health. We tackle this via a variety of social and informative events.

Dementia Care

There is no known cure for dementia.

The requirement for care is therefore for the long-term maintenance and monitoring of the person with dementia and relief for the carers.

Maintaining the services we offer is crucial.

Volunteer your time

With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you and your local community.Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. Volunteering and helping others can help you reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving in even simple ways can help others those in need and improve your health and happiness. Click here to see details of our current voluntary roles

Encouraging young people to volunteer and work in care

We have visits from nurseries and local schools to both the day centre and at our regular Priestwood Get Togethers encouraging the older and younger generations to interact with each other. We also regularly host secondary school students for their Work Experience and have a good relationship with local schools and colleges.
