CHUMS Charity

"To support children, young people and their families with their mental health & emotional wellbeing."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

CHUMS Charity provides support in Bedfordshire & Luton and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.  We operate the following 5 services in Bedfordshire, while the charity is in its early days in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.  Support comes at a critical point when our service users are feeling extremely vulnerable and we support them through this time so that they can eventually move forward in their lives.

The Bedfordshire Suicide Bereavement Service (BSBS) for families bereaved by suicide.  We work in partnership with Bedfordshire Police so that they can refer to us as early as possible, so that we can support families within 48 hours

The Bereavement and Non-bereavement Trauma Services for children and young people who have been traumatically bereaved or have been sexually abused or suffered other trauma in their young lives

The Babyloss Service for families, following the death of a baby before, at or soon after birth

Recreational Therapeutic music and football programmes for children aged 8 to 14 and

The Disability Friendship Scheme in Luton for children and young people aged 13 to 25

We are currently looking for people to take part in some of our challenge events - these are UK based and overseas - whatever takes your fancy for a personal challenge while raising funds for CHUMS Charity.

Also a quick volunteering opportunity is to pack sweet cones in our offices at Wrest Park.  This can be a quick 2 hour slot or bucket collecting at local supermarkets which are also 2-3 hour slots.  These opportunities are available on certain dates across both geographic patches of Bedfordshire & Luton and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.

We are looking for a t-shirt sponsor so if you work for a company that would like to see their branding promoted on a variety of challenge events, please give us a call on 01525 863924 and ask for Sue.
