Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes
Dawlish Community Transport is based in the Barton Hill Car Park (just behind the Museum) in Dawlish and offers accessible and affording transport services for people who may be unable to use public transport or need support in getting out and about (specialising in wheelchair transportation); helping to access shops, health appointments, services and leisure activities.
We promote and support independence and social contact. All our vehicles are adapted to take wheelchairs and have lowered steps and tail lifts.
We have a great fleet of vehicles here, driven by our wonderful volunteers who give up their time to help in the community.

We offer accessible and affording transport services for people who may be unable to use public transport or need support in getting out and about (specialising in wheelchair transportation); helping to access shops, health appointments, services and leisure activities.
If you fancy a trip out or need to do your shopping we go to various places during the week and can pick you up from your own home, a door to door service, with our Ring and Ride, or why not join us for a social trip out on a Tuesday (we go to lots of lovely places). We are always looking for volunteers to join our happy team. Although we are predominantly vehicles and in need of more drivers, we also have many other opportunities - from assisting with keeping our vehicles clean and tidy to delivering leaflets locally. Fundraising is paramount for us; if anyone would like to help us at events or has ideas and suggestions please do get in touch. We have a Shopmobility service which is particularly busy in the summer months; we desperately need helpers with this. We also run the local TN187 (Dawlish Warren) and TN886 (Teignmouth-Newton Abbot) bus routes; if you'd like to find out more just give us a call.A recent passenger shared:
I wanted to say thank you for such a lovely, caring organisation. I now get a call from the driver 10mins (ish) before the bus gets here. I now get jobs done and can rest in return. My bags are always taken to the door. Everything drivers can do to make the journeys enjoyable, they do. Their driving is impeccable. Wow the roads and bad drivers they meet is done patiently and professionally. The office staff are also so helpful it was someone from the office who set up the calling system. It is all about the passengers’ comfort and enjoyment. SB
