Tavistock Scrapstore

"Cultivate Creative Communities Providing Recycled Goods for Art and Play"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

We help artists, local community groups, children, people with disabilities, schools and more. Keeping the cost of scrap material down means creativity can come without a large cost!

Tavistock Scrapstore aims to advance Arts and Crafts by facilitating the use and provision of recycled, scrap or surplus materials as a creative resource to individuals, both adults and children, with the aim of improving their social welfare, mental health and well-being and inspiring creativity for the public and for the benefit of the environment.

Tavistock Scrapstore aims to protect and preserve the environment for the public benefit by promoting recycling, using recycled products and scrap along with advancing the education of the public about waste recycling and the use of surplus and scrap.

Workshops: We regularly hold low-cost workshops in traditional and modern craft skills for adults and children and their carers. Schedules are made available on our Facebook page and in store.

We are happy to provide workshops for schools, community groups, businesses, or clubs for low or no cost using recycled materials. Please contact us at [email protected] to find out more.

Volunteer

Donations of Time

Are you someone who loves a good craft stash?  Do you see endless possibilities in everyday materials?  Do you just want a place to meet new people and be creative?  We are always looking for new volunteers for both regular shifts (10-1 or 2-5 weekdays) or one off help (at events and fairs!) Email us today or stop by to discuss how you can get involved.

Donations of Scrap

Are you a local business that has scrap that you think we could use for arts or crafts? Email or call us and we can discuss either drop-off or pick-up of recycled items and keep them from the tip. Unfortunately we cannot take anything electrical, exterior or interior house paint, or anything that needs any form of treatment before use (bedding, tyres, old chemical containers, etc.)
