"Connecting People, Communities & Opportunities"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Community life and social connections are vital to all our health and wellbeing. Wellbeing Exeter works alongside people to discover and develop opportunities and ideas on how to live and feel better and get connected to what matters to them. We are a community-based programme. As a partnership we offer:

Community Connectors who have knowledge of a wide range of local opportunities and are able to connect people to those that are right for them, with an emphasis on working things out together.

Community Builders who support local residents and communities to grow their own ideas, try new things that bring people together, improve their wellbeing and make their community a better place to live.

Community Physical Activity Organisers who focus on being more active as one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, working alongside individuals and communities to make physical activity part of their daily lives.

Additional Info

Community Physical Activity Organisers (CPAOs) focus on being active as one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. They work with people who aren't currently active to find new opportunities to move more as part of their daily lives. This can include:

  • connecting people to the community and opportunities to be more active, in ways which work for them
  • working in Exeter's local neighbour-hoods with residents, groups and networks to support physical activity ideas to get off the ground, grow and keep going
