Information and Advice

We can visit you at home - Our advisers visit older people at home throughout Northamptonshire to advise and provide support.

Information Guides & Factsheets - We keep a supply of the full range of Age UK information guides and factsheets.

Day Centres

Our centres offer older people a safe, stimulating environment where they can take part in activities and meet friends. The regular sessions improve quality of life and help people maintain their independence.

Accessible Transport - Wheelchair accessible minibuses and trained, caring drivers.

How Much Does it Cost? - Includes activities, two-course hot meal, tea and coffee.

Carers Sitting Service 

Our Carers Sitting Service -  helps people who care for an older person who lives with them.

Collaborative care 

For older people registered with GP surgeries in the East Northants, Kettering and Wellingborough areas to help them stay independent and safe at home for longer.

Extra Help at the End of Life

For people who are deemed to be in the last eight weeks of life and have chosen to be cared for at home with their loved ones.

Handyperson Service

This service helps older people keep on top of jobs around the home and live independently for longer.

Home Care Cleaning Service

We can help with domestic duties in your home to help older people live independently in their own home.

Hospital Discharge and Community Team

We provide FREE short term support which can reduce the likelihood of older people being re-admitted to hospital.  We aim to help people regain their independence as far as possible, so this service also supports older people living in the community with long term health needs.

The Later Life Project

Support for people ages 50 or over with one or more long-term health conditions, including frailty.

Money Management Support

This service is for older people living in Northamptonshire and is particularly suited to people who perhaps have relied on a partner to handle money matters and now need to do it themselves.  Or it may be that illness or health problems mean an older person is less able to leave their home.

Personalised Integrated Care

This service provides holistic, non-medical support to improve the health and wellbeing of  older people living in Northampton.

Telephone Befriending Scheme

A regular chat with one of our cheerful volunteers can make a real difference.

Toenail Cutting Service

We run a basic toe nail cutting service for anyone who is unable to manage their own nail care.

• Aquafit - An enjoyable whole-body exercise and swim session.
  
• Keep Fit - An all round exercise class for fitness and mobility.
  
• Nordic Walking - Instructor led walks with Nordic Walking poles.
  
• Thai Chi Class - An excellent exercise to develop strength and balance.

• Short Mat Bowls - Every Wednesday at Moulton Community Centre in Northampton.
  
• Northampton's Men's Sheds - A friendly group who share space and tools, and work on craft projects and an allotment at Moulton.
  
• Coffee Club - Meet every Tuesday in Northampton for a friendly chat, cup of tea and cake.
  
• Whist Club - A friendly group meets every Friday in Northampton to play cards.

Volunteering at our Shops

Our shops are friendly places where volunteers sort donations, keep the shop floor tidy and serve customers. If you can spare a morning or an afternoon on a regular basis to volunteer in one of our shops we'd love to hear from you.  Please get in touch.
