Fair Close Centre is a vibrant social hub where over 60s meet, eat and have fun close to the centre of Newbury. Why not try our cosy free café or take advantage of the two-course Thursdays lunch offer for just £3.50 served at the table in our restaurant by wonderful volunteers! We provide a minibus transport to and from home, daily activities and entertainment and also have a hairdresser and foot care specialist and wellbeing team on site. All meals are freshly cooked and we deliver 400+ meals on wheels each week for those housebound especially during the winter months.
"I work within adult social care. I have been able to use the services of the Fair Close Centre for a large number of people for social support. I have found the centre to be a wonderful way for people to feel part of the community. The hot meal service has ensure people continue to have a good well balanced diet Monday to Friday. I know the knit and natter is popular and has a real community feel."

A lively programme of events and activities ensures that senior citizens remain active and entertained. We have a wide range of activities on offer. From gentle exercise classes to arts and crafts and games of bingo, there is something for everyone. Click here to see a typical week's activities.
Our centre's minibus is available to collect people from their homes in the morning and return them in the afternoon.
Why not have fresh meals delivered daily? Our Meals on Wheels service is available to housebound senior citizens. If you or an elderly member of your family cannot make it to the centre, we offer a healthy and reliable Meals on Wheels service. Our drivers deliver nourishing freshly cooked meals on wheels in and around Newbury and Thatcham 7 days a week. We can also supply frozen meals for weekends and bank holidays.
Why not ring our Meals on Wheels co-ordinators Georgie and Fiona on 01635 40488 to arrange delivery tomorrow or next week? We are happy to deal with individual dietary requirements. The cost - £6.50 for a two course meal (main dish, vegetables and dessert). Our menu changes each week and is always freshly cooked and served piping hot to your door. Our welfare officer Teresa is at the centre Monday to Friday to give advice and offer help with problems however big or small. If she doesn’t know the answer to a question she’ll try and find someone who does.
Our on site shop sells a wide variety of items including clothes, books, jewellery and more. Opening times: Tuesday - Friday 10am - 12pm
