Connect Bath
"To provide events and activities to tackle loneliness and prevent social marginalisation locally."
We provide a freshly cooked festive lunch to anyone who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day, supporting their wellbeing through conversation, connection and companionship.
If you don't want to be alone at Christmas come and join our party, share in an afternoon of entertainment and enjoy a fresh-cooked lunch in a warm and friendly environment being looked after by our many volunteers. It's all free of charge.
Guests are usually recommended to Connect Bath by charities, support groups and family members and are then contacted by us to confirm they wish to receive a ticket to attend. Anyone who is alone at Christmas can contact us direct, or be proposed by a relative, friend or neighbour, to join in the party. We welcome all faiths, denominations, races, genders and ages, and as our guests we expect you to uphold and respect these same values of goodwill to all.
Apply for yourself or on behalf of someone by calling for a ticket on our either of our Guest Line numbers, 01225 312271 / 07385 044581.
It’s with the help of around 200 volunteers like you, willing to give up their time to make a difference to someone else’s Christmas Day, that makes the party run like clockwork. A brief overview of the various Volunteer duties for which you can apply are on our website www.connect-bath.org. Applications close in November 2023.
Some roles may need only a couple of hours, others can be all day, and experienced volunteers will be on hand to help others in their teams. We cannot accept children under the age of 13 for Christmas Day roles, and the minimum age to work in the kitchen and wash-up areas is 16, due to insurance.
To make things simpler, all documents will be loaded inside aDoddle.
