Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes
Diverse Abilities is Dorset's disability charity - and the only organisation helping both children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities.
We support more than 1,500 people every year across our wide range of services including:
- Langside School, a specialist school for children aged 2 to 19
- Coping with CHAOS, play sessions for the whole family
- Shapes, domiciliary care for children
- Project, activities for children aged 8 to 18
- STARs, support for the SEN siblings
- Lily's Place, a respite home for children
- Awesome Nights, our weekly youth club for teenagers
- Lawford Lodge, a respite home for young adults
- Transitions, a support service for moving into Adult Social Services
- The Beehive, a day activity and therapy centre for adults
- Supported Living Servce, care in the home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Advice Team, helping with benefit appeals, applications, legal documentation
