Plastic Free Okehampton

"Helping our town to reduce its reliance on single use plastics."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Our group consists of local residents, shop-keepers and councillors who are all enthusiastic about minimising our town's reliance on single use plastics.  Plastic Free Communities do not aspire to rid where we live of plastic, but instead provide alternatives to the dependence on single use plastics.

What We Do

Our group is small and we are not experts but if you have a question about how to decrease you reliance on single use plastics, we are linked to a national network of like-minded people who should be able to provide alternatives and answers.

Additional Info

As well as trying to reduce single use plastics, our group is also  responsible for planning and running monthly Green Drinks.  This is where we welcome like-minded residents, councillors, business leaders and volunteers to mix in a relaxed, social environment sharing stories, information and updates about local environmental groups.  Plastic Free Okehampton also co-ordinates the town's contribution to the annual Great Big Green Week.
