Uniform Exchange

"Making sure every child in Kirklees can have a free recycled school uniform if they need it."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Uniform Exchange was set up as a community project in 2011 to make sure every child in Kirklees could have a free school uniform if they needed it. That need has never been greater than it is now.

The cost-of-living crisis means many families are struggling just to eat and keep warm so new school uniform is simply unaffordable yet countless tonnes of it is still being thrown into landfill in Kirklees every year.

We need to all make a positive impact on the environment so please do your bit by simply giving your old school uniform to us.

We work with all 182 schools in Kirklees plus a few independent ones so every local child can go to school smart, proud and ready to learn. It’s impossible to overestimate how important school uniform is to make a young person feel a part of their school community, doing wonders for their self-esteem and sense of wellbeing.

We must all work together to make this happen.
