Oldham Volunteer Drivers Service
"Our Mission is to provide a low cost transport solution for older people in Royton, Shaw & Crompton"
The Oldham Circle Volunteer Drivers Service (VDS) is an affordable transport service operating across the area. It is a service for adults (aged 50+ / or vulnerable adults) who are unable, or find it difficult, to use public transport.
Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicles to provide a door-to-door, flexible, transport service. The passenger is picked up from their home and taken to their destination. Return journeys are also available. If requested, and where possible, a driver can wait with the passenger until they are ready to return home.
For each journey, a contribution is calculated at just 45p per mile - payable to the driver on the day, to reimburse the cost of petrol and to support the costs of insuring and maintaining their vehicles.
All Volunteer Drivers are DBS checked, and have all the necessary vehicle safety requirements and insurance in place - so you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands!

The Circle Volunteer Drivers Service is looking for Volunteer
Drivers, with their own vehicles, to provide a transport service
for elderly or vulnerable adults who find it difficult to use public
transport. These passengers may have various health or mobility
problems.
Drivers must have their own vehicles for which they receive 45p
per mile to reimburse you towards the cost of petrol and to
support the insurance and vehicle maintenance.
For each journey, the payable amount is calculated at 45p per
mile - payable to the driver, to reimburse the cost of petrol and to
support the costs of insuring and maintaining their vehicles.
The majority of trips are undertaken between 9am and 5pm and
you can take on as much or as little driving as you wish. This is a
rewarding role promoting Health & Wellbeing and creating new
friendships!
It is an interesting and varied volunteering opportunity where no
two days are ever the same.
A DBS check will be undertaken for this volunteering opportunity.
To make things simpler, all documents will be loaded inside aDoddle.
