Action on Climate in Teignbridge Wildlife Wardens
"Provide support and training for volunteer Wildlife Wardens in each of the Teignbridge parishes"
The Wildlife Warden Scheme was established by Action on Climate in Teignbridge (ACT) and launched in October 2020 to support local wildlife facing the ecological and climate emergency.
Today, we have over 150 volunteer Wildlife Wardens across Teignbridge. We provide training and ongoing support to anyone interested in volunteering as a Wildlife Warden in their parish.
As a volunteer, you’ll receive help getting started with projects within your parish and be connected with other dedicated volunteers, both in your parish and across Teignbridge. Together, we can share ideas, pool resources, and support each other—making a greater impact, faster!
We provide training, information and support, whilst connecting you with other local Wildlife Wardens.
Projects our Wildlife Wardens are involved with include:
• Helping create new local habitats by planting trees, hedges and wildflower meadows
• Encouraging wildlife gardening within their parishes
• Working with local youth groups to encourage a love of wildlife
• Recording local species and surveying parish habitats
• Looking out for planning applications that might affect wildlife
and lots more .....!
Become a volunteer Wildlife Warden for your parish!
You don't need any expertise, just enthusiasm and a willingness to volunteer a few hours a month to help nature and wildlife to thrive in your parish.
