December 2023 - Feedback from the applicant
What have been the successes
I have had great success so far, the biggest success being the video presentation I produced for Recovery`s Got Talent on the 14th October . it was received extremely well by the audience of over 200 people! Quite a few people approached me with congratulations, and a gentleman from Anglia Care Trust took my business card and said he`ll be in touch in the new year about the possibility of some video work!
I have created a facebook page called Js Recovery Media, I have gained quite a few followers, and have had many comments of congratulations.
I have also created a video called The 12 Nights Of Christmas, to highlight the effects and dangers of drink driving around Christmas time. I only finished it recently but have received some very positive and encouraging feedback.
What have been the challenges?
The only challenge I’ve had so far, is getting to know my new equipment in time for RGT in such a short space of time. However, it was only slightly challenging and everything turned out better than expected.
Feedback you have received
My video that I made especially for Recovery's Got Talent, has been seen by over 300 people and a lot of people in recovery, and their families have told me directly that my video has helped understand just how life threatening addiction is.
Other comments on your project
My recovery and my projects led to me being offered a place on a Peer Mentor course with Turning Point, which will lead to a level 2 qualification. This is definitely something I wish to go further with. This is a completely new direction for me and one that I am thoroughly enjoying.
