TP Herefordshire Recovery Service: Jammin' Point
"Empowering recovery through music, self expression, creativity and building connections"
The integrated substance misuse service provides free and confidential support for adults and young people around their use of alcohol and other drugs. We also offer support to families and carers affected by the alcohol or drug use of someone else.
One of our team will support you to build a treatment plan based on your circumstances. To get the best of our treatment options you will need to commit to attending the sessions.
At Turning Point we have been helping people make changes in their lives for over 60 years, constantly finding way to support more people to discover new possibilities in their lives. We work closely with the people we support, their families, carers, and circle of support. The Herefordshire Recovery Service combines the expertise of Turning Point as a national specialist charity with the existing recovery communities and local partners.
This involves establishing personalised recovery journeys whilst stimulating a vibrant culture of recovery and wellbeing. Working in partnership with HealthWatch Herefordshire, we engage with service users and other agencies to develop a service that responds to the needs of the local community.
To help reduce drug-related deaths we provide free overdose response Naloxone kits to people at risk of an opioid overdose, their family and friends, and members of the public who could help prevent an overdose.
Naloxone is a medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, including those related to heroin, methadone, morphine, buprenorphine, codeine and synthetic opioids, like nitazenes and fentanyl. Order yourself a kit through our Naloxone Click & Deliver service and help save lives.
We will reach out to offer support and interventions in community settings across the county. This will help to reduce the barrier to people accessing services and allowing us to work in closer collaboration with partner services for the benefit of local communities.
Learn how to regain control and either cut down your alcohol use or stop altogether. We provide a range of options including medically assisted detox, group sessions, peer support and relapse prevention.
Detoxification can be daunting and we are here to support you. Our Resilience workshop is designed to help you overcome any barriers to coming off substitute medication, providing help to manage the physical and psychological process of detoxification.
Whatever your goals are we will build an individual plan together to help you meet them. Once we have discussed your needs, aims and current situation we will work with you to identify a pathway to help to achieve your goals – offering a range support including prescribing, workshops, online support and one-to-one.
We know that having a family member who uses substances can be very difficult. Our specially trained workers will work with children and families to make sure everyone gets the help they need.
Reclaim allows you to build skills and commitment to making positive changes to your drug use. Whether you are looking to make changes to your use of cannabis, cocaine, amphetamines or benzos, Reclaim can support you to make change your use of non-opiate drugs.
Reconnecting service users into their local communities to sustain recovery and improve wellbeing, through an extensive menu of community activities, mutual aid and employment.
Our online tool ‘My Turning Point’ provides 24/7 access to a range of guided and self-help sessions that can help with your drug and alcohol use, as well as emotional heath and other wellbeing subjects. Accessible on computers, tablet and some smartphones.
Mindfulness is about you learning to live in the present, rather than in the past or an imagined future. Being mindful can increase awareness of your emotions and can support you to manage cravings, prevent relapses and maintain your abstinence.

TP Herefordshire applied to the Innovation fund to set up a music club for people we support. The aim of the group was to provide a space to connect (helping people socialise and build new friendships) and learn new skills (either picking up an instrument for the first time or practicing skills they already possess).
The service already had a number of talented musicians who were keen to support others to learn how to play or simply listen to music in a safe space. They were keen for the music group to be built into the local Recovery Community offer, helping people who are in recovery find meaningful and engaging activities to support their goals.
