The Jordan Legacy CIC

"To prevent all preventable suicides"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

The Jordan Legacy CIC was established in memory of Jordan Phillip who took his own life on December 4th 2019, aged 34.

Research shows that most suicides are preventable.

Our mission is to move towards a society that is willing and able to do all it can to prevent all preventable suicides through collaboration, education and awareness raising.

Throughout the year, there are a range of different activities we undertake to support our Mission of moving towards a 'Zero Suicide Society.'  Please see the 'What we do' page of our profile to learn about how we help.

What We Do

The Jordan Legacy team are not mental health or suicide prevention professionals, nor do we offer any form of crisis or helpline support. We work collaboratively with our partners to identify practical solutions to actively prevent suicides in our education centres, workplaces and in our communities.

We do however, provide an extensive and constantly developing menu of Help & Support resources, which can be found on this page of our website.

Every day, we're working on various projects relating to suicide prevention, which include:

Currently we are working on 2 important initiatives:

  1. ‘One Voice, One Hope’ a national suicide prevention initiative to create a collaborative network of all those who operate in the suicide prevention space to work together on specific, practical areas of suicide prevention – more information available here.
  2. We deliver free to attend online educational panel events to discuss important and topical issues and share practical solutions to help prevent suicides. Learn more
  3. Deliver talks;  we can come into your workplace, school, higher education centre or community setting to help your people understand how they can support each other and themselves when signs of poor mental health are spotted or when there appears to be a risk of suicide or self-harm to an individual. For more information about our talks, please click here.
  4. Our bi-annual Hope for Life (UK) Conference and awards event in Harrogate, North Yorkshire – to inspire and bring hope to an average physical audience of 130 people. Learn more
  5. Provide vital Help and Support resources on our website, signposting people who need support with mental health issues or concerns about suicide. Learn more
  6. Post important articles and blogs via the ‘Latest’ news section of our website, where we share articles and updates about our research, advocacy and campaigning to minimise suicides, including our ‘ground-breaking’ “Moving Towards a Zero Suicide Society” report, our petition to parliament, which exceeded 10,000 signatures and our no punches pulled response to the Government’s National Suicide Prevention Strategy. Learn more
  7. Highly active on social media, sharing important and relevant information and lived experience stories relating to mental health and suicide prevention. Our Founder, Steve Phillip, has more than 60,000 followers LinkedIn - please connect with him here.

Volunteer

The Jordan Legacy does require direct support or volunteers, in the traditional sense, to support our work. However, by visiting this page of our website, you will find numerous ways in which you could support our mission to help prevent all preventable suicides.

From 2025 onwards, will be looking for individuals and organisations to help us resource and support our vision for a new national collaborative for suicide prevention, "One Voice, One Hope."
