Community Building

Ladybarn Community Hub

"Whatever your age or background, we want all the people and the whole community to thrive."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Ladybarn Community Hub is a community centre in the heart of Ladybarn, and we run a variety of groups such as coffee mornings, choirs and over 50s lunch clubs as well as hosting other organisations like youth groups and churches and offering venue hire for the local community.

Whatever your age or background, we want all the people and the whole community to thrive. We want to be part of community transformation – whether that’s building the community spirit, developing a sustainable environment or helping meet the needs of our community. Whatever it is, we want to be at the heart of positive, lasting change in Ladybarn.

Ladybarn Community Hub (formerly Ladybarn Community Centre) has been going for over 40 years serving the community and transforming the lives of people who enter the hub to get involved in activities and build positive relationships.

We hope people enjoy The Hub as a welcoming place full of life and activity bringing good to the whole community

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”     Margaret Mead

Ladybarn Community Hub would not operate without the generosity of its volunteers. There are volunteers helping run activities in the Hub including old age groups, gardening, one-off community events and leadership and governance. We also have many opportunities for student volunteering to help them participate and contribute to the community during their time in Manchester studying.

Consider these benefits to volunteering:

  1. Volunteering can help you make friends.
  2. Volunteering is good for your mind and body including combating stress and depression.
  3. Volunteering can advance your career.
  4. Volunteering brings fun and fulfilment to your life

People volunteer for many different reasons whether you’re a student or retired or any where in between we’d love you to consider volunteering at the Hub!

If you would like to support your local community, meet new friends and learn new skills then please
