What We Do

The Little Library – A Community Space for Calm and Connection

The Little Library is a co-produced initiative between charities, Turning Point UK (Stafford) and House of Bread, created to offer a peaceful, welcoming space for anyone in need of a moment to relax, reflect, or simply enjoy a good book.

Turning Point UK supports individuals in Stafford living with learning disabilities and mental health challenges, while House of Bread provides vital services to those experiencing homelessness, including hot meals, pantry access and crisis support.

Nestled in a beautiful community garden filled with flowers, wildlife and a tranquil water feature, The Little Library is free and open to all. Visitors will find a variety of leaflets offering information on local services such as STARS, mental health resources and ideas for fun days out.

Seasonal essentials like sun cream and bottled water are also available during warmer months, making it a thoughtful and practical space for the community.

Volunteer

The Little Library thrives thanks to the kindness and involvement of the local community. There are lots of simple ways you can support this peaceful space:

  • Donate books or leaflets - If you have spare books or helpful leaflets about local services, events, or support groups, feel free to drop them off at the Little Library. Every contribution helps someone feel more connected and informed.
  • Lend a hand in the garden - Pop by anytime to do a bit of weeding, litter picking, or general tidying. Keeping the space clean and welcoming ensures it remains a safe haven for both the community and local wildlife.

Your small acts of care help keep the Little Library blooming, both as a resource and a refuge. Thank you for being part of it!
