What We Do

Who we help

We help veterans, their relatives, reservists, and people who worked under UK command to make a success of life in the civilian world. You don’t have to have served in a conflict, and it’s never too late to ask for support.

How we can help

If you need support with your physical or mental health, feel lonely, or need help applying for benefits, just get in touch. We also host free activities and events across the UK so you can spend time with other veterans and find activities to enjoy in your community.

Help for Heroes cafes

A Help for Heroes café is a great place to start. At these relaxed drop-in sessions you can meet other veterans and families in your area and chat to our team about the support, services and events we offer. No questions asked, no obligation to sign up for anything.

Volunteer

Looking to make a real difference close to home? Whether you’re hoping to share your skills, meet new people, or give back to those who’ve served our country, we have volunteer opportunities for you.

From collecting donations and assisting at events to simply sharing a coffee with a veteran, every role helps strengthen our community.

Fundraise

Our fundraising volunteers play an important role in helping us deliver the life changing services and support that veterans and families need. From helping people with their physical and mental health, to connecting them to others in their community. None of these services would be possible without our fundraising team. 

Give Time

Sharing your time with a veteran can help them feel valued, connected, and supported, and sometimes all it takes is a simple cup of tea. Whether you’d like to host one of our Heroes Cafés, lend a hand at sporting events, or just enjoy a friendly chat over cake, your presence truly matters.
