BUBIC - Bringing Unity Back Into the Community
"Haringey-based LERO providing peer-led recovery activities and support to people locally"
BUBIC travel around the Community to provide food, drinks, warm clothing, and toiletries to vulnerable adult’s day and night. This service enables us to go into any part of the community to provide information, drug awareness, guidance, and support by signposting to the relevant services related to the individual’s needs.
We work closely with the local Community and local stakeholders to identify local needs. We are also able to undertake home visits to facilitate active engagement for those who have disengaged with the Services.
Outreach is a process of active engagement in known hotspots in the Community to reduce anti-social behaviour and improve health through harm reduction. The aim is to engage with hard-to-reach clients and encourage them to get into treatment.
Our strength lies in our approach. We work in and with communities to encourage and support ex-users to become peer mentors and advisors to help those who are addicted to drugs recognize the causes and effect of their addiction and to give them practical advice and emotional support to combat their addiction.
We achieve this by:
Working in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies.
Providing clients with volunteer mentors who offer advice, guidance and support.
Reaching out to users in the community.
Providing and developing peer support sessions in priority neighbourhoods.
Working with ex-users, current users, families and friends,
Taking our message into the community, schools and colleges.
If you, or anyone you know is addicted to drugs or affected by someone else’s addiction then BUBIC can.

Activities for Wellbeing
BUBIC recruits volunteers and provides them with training to ensure they have the confidence and relevant skills to undertake their volunteering role. Some other benefits to volunteering with us are being part of a team, gaining experience, and keeping active.
Although not limited to those with lived experience, many of our volunteers are ex-drug users who understand the struggles that other users may be facing and are able to support other addicts in coming to terms with their addiction and provide practical and emotional support. Some of the other areas in which we place our volunteers are administration, data inputting, day and night outreach, managing stalls and events
