Ategi

"We supports adults with additional needs through Shared Lives, Supported Living & Community Support."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Who We Help, Why We Help Them, and the Difference We Make

We support adults with additional needs, including people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and other challenges.

We help because everyone deserves the chance to live a full, independent, and meaningful life. Many of the people we support have faced barriers to independence, social isolation, or transitions in life such as moving from children’s services to adulthood.

With our support, people learn skills, gain confidence, and make choices about their lives. They can live independently, build friendships, explore hobbies, and feel part of their community. The difference we make is real and life-changing — enabling people to thrive, be included, and enjoy life on their own terms.

What We Do

How We Can Help You

At Ategi, we provide Shared Lives, Supported Living, and Community Support to help adults with additional needs.

  • Shared Lives: People live in a family-style setting with a trained Shared Lives carer who provides guidance, companionship, and day-to-day support, helping them develop skills and confidence in a home environment.

  • Supported Living: Staff or support workers help the individual live in their own home, supporting with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, managing money, or attending appointments, while promoting independence.

  • Community Support: Practical help for getting out and about, shopping, attending activities, or socialising, helping people stay connected and included.

We tailor all our support to each person’s goals, interests, and abilities, ensuring that everyone can take steps toward independence at their own pace.

Volunteer

Ategi thrives because of the support of our staff, volunteers, and Shared Lives carers. There are many ways you can get involved:

  • Become a Shared Lives carer: Offer a home and support to someone, helping them gain confidence and skills - this is a paid role. A Shared Lives carer can offer Short Breaks support ( over a weekend/ limited time period) or long term support where the individual moves in with you.

  • Fundraise or donate: Every contribution helps us provide person-centred support, resources, and experiences that change lives.

By helping us, you’re part of a community that creates opportunities, builds independence, and makes a real difference for adults with additional needs.
