Music24

"Music making groups for adults with dementia, learning disabilities and mental health challenges"

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

Music24 is a charity that provides social connection through music-making opportunities that support adults with dementia and their carers, adults with learning disabilities and adults with mental health challenges across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

There is growing evidence that music can play an important role in our health and wellbeing.  Our music therapists and community musicians provide an important space for adults living with a range of conditions or illnesses to have moments of social connection and a much-needed creative outlet.

From coming to our sessions, our Service Users experience huge improvement to their wellbeing; for some, it is life changing.

What We Do

You don't have to be a musician to take part in any of our groups.  Everyone is a musician in Music24's eyes!

Our Dementia Group Service Users and their carers enjoy an important and safe space to have moments of connection.  They can sing, dance and improvise with percussion instruments.
Our Dementia Groups take place in Luton, Stevenage, Cheshunt and Watford

Our Mind Our Music mental health groups provide a creative outlet and a supportive network for adults living with a mental health problem.  Sessions offer the opportunity to make music freely and be 'in the moment'.
Our Mind Our Music groups take place in Bedford, Luton and Welwyn Garden City.

Our First Note learning disability groups provide a space to build confidence, improve co-ordination, concentration, and social participation.
Our First Note groups take place in Bedford, Luton, Biggleswade and Stevenage.

We also run a number of Singing Cafes open to anyone at risk of social isolation, especially older individuals.  These take place in Bedford, Luton, Ampthill, Flitwick, Hitchin, Hertford, Welwyn Garden City and Leighton Buzzard.

All our groups are accessed via a Referral system found on our website.  Service Users can self-refer or ask a Social Prescriber or GP.
