National Ablepreneurs® Day

"A UK recognition day dedicated to celebrating disabled and chronically ill entrepreneurs."

Event Overview

Event Start: 16/09/2026 at 00:01
Event End: 16/09/2026 at 23:59

September 16th 2026 will be the first ever National Ablepreneurs® Day.  It is a recognition day dedicated to celebrating and empowering disabled and chronically ill entrepreneurs. Held on 16th September, it shines a spotlight on the innovation, creativity and determination of entrepreneurs who build businesses while navigating additional barriers that many never see.

The day exists to highlight their contribution to the economy and the wider business community — not despite their disabilities or long-term conditions, but alongside them. It’s also a reminder that entrepreneurship can be a powerful space for inclusion, accessibility and opportunity when the right support and awareness are in place.

National Ablepreneurs Day champions resilience, belonging and legacy. It encourages people across the UK to recognise and uplift disabled founders, share their stories, and help create a business landscape where every entrepreneur has the chance to thrive.

What to post on social media

If you’re supporting National Ablepreneurs Day, here are some ideas to help spread the message online:

  • Spotlight an ablepreneur: Share the story of a disabled or chronically ill entrepreneur you admire.

  • Share your journey: If you’re an ablepreneur yourself, post about your business and what this day means to you.

  • Accessibility matters: Talk about ways businesses can make their services, content or workplaces more accessible.

  • Celebrate achievements: Highlight wins — big or small — from disabled founders in your network.

  • Spread awareness: Share statistics or insights about disabled entrepreneurship in the UK.

  • Show support: Post a message of encouragement or a pledge to champion inclusion in business.
