Street Soccer London
"OUR AIM IS TO CREATE PURPOSE, PROVIDE HOPE AND SUPPORT"
Street Soccer was founded in 2009 to create positive change through football, inspired by Lived Experience.
Established to support people affected by social exclusion, providing a safe space, a sense of purpose, and access to new opportunities.
Football is the engagement tool from which we build trusting relationships with our players and provide holistic person-centred support, aiming to build their confidence, set goals, and create positive futures. We work with people experiencing a wide range of social issues including adverse mental health, problem substance use, criminal justice, homelessness, those who are care experienced and those seeking asylum.
We are built on lived experience – many of our staff have faced the same challenges as our players.
We are totally inclusive, respectful, and understanding while offering opportunity to anyone who needs it. We do not impose a time limit or any other expectations, only reassurance that we are here to inspire.
Street Soccer uses football to create lasting positive change for the most at risk and socially disadvantaged people across Scotland & London.
We run free, inclusive, trauma-informed football sessions which are open to everyone of all ages and backgrounds, creating communities of support and bringing people together.
Football is just 30% of what we do, 70% is made up of Off-Pitch support, tailored to the individual including housing support, specialist mental health provision, food provision, emotional support, signposting and work with our partner organisations.
The first step in accessing our services is joining one of our free and inclusive football drop in sessions.
No referral or pre-registration required, but we’re always up for a chat if you want to learn more before coming along.
