Today 1st February 2022 marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year (also known as the Lunar New Year). Last year was the year of the Ox, and this year it is that of the Tiger.
Despite the name, the Chinese New Year isn’t only celebrated in China. It is celebrated in other Asian countries such as Vietnam and South Korea. Those born in the Year of the Tiger are thought of as confident, competitive, and brave. Though they are also characterised as being unpredictable, irritable, and overindulgent.
Celebrations should last 16 days from the 31st of January, and are concluded with a lantern festival on the final day.
