White Ribbon Day sees the start of 16 Days of Action against domestic and sexual violence.
White Ribbon is a campaign led by men, aimed at putting an end to male violence against women. Men across the globe raise awareness and show their support for the campaign by wearing a white ribbon.
1 in 4 women will be a victim to sexual assault or attempted assault in their lifetimes. (National Audit Office, 2025)
Culture change doesn’t happen overnight, but we can end men’s violence against women and girls in our lifetimes.
This White Ribbon Day, we want more men to use their voices and speak up to create a world where everyone is safe, equal and respected.
Every time we ignore something that doesn’t feel right, we miss a chance to set a better example.
Violence experienced by women and girls takes many forms. Some behaviours and words may seem ‘harmless’ but normalising them ignores the short- and long-term effects on women and can lead to more extreme violence.
