Big Schools’ Birdwatch
The RSPB’s Big Schools’ Birdwatch is a citizen science project for schools across the UK. It takes place alongside, the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
It’s easy (and free!) to get involved, and we find that most children are excited to be a part of this important research. All you have to do is count the bird species you can see in your school, and then send the results to the RSPB. Easy!
Submission for results is open between 8th January – 19th February.
RSPB’s Big Schools’ Birdwatch has been running for over 20 years, and the reason it’s been going for so long is that it’s such valuable work. The results that schools submit to the RSPB are used by scientists to help create a picture of how birds are faring across the UK.
