Great British Beach Clean

This week is the Great British Beach Clean!

It’s an event where people from across the UK come together to tidy up their local beaches. There are hundreds of beach cleans taking place over the week, so it’s worth checking if there’s one happening in your local area.

The week also presents an opportunity to record the levels of litter found on UK beaches.

5,261 dedicated volunteers took part in our Great British Beach Clean 2022. An amazing 30 miles of beach was cleaned across the UK with litter items recorded over the ten days – the results are now in!

• Our amazing #Volunteers helped to pick up over 141,048 pieces of litter, weighing in almost 4,000kg

It’s easy to get involved. Simply find a beach clean near you or organise your own. We’ve got lots of guides and resources available to help you get set up.

Beach cleans are fun for all the family (including dogs!), and the data collected helps us to campaign for positive change for the ocean.
