Today is #WorldAlzheimersDay.
It’s an international awareness day aimed at reducing the stigma around Alzheimer’s and raising awareness of the disease.
Did you know that while Alzheimer’s Disease is often associated with ageing, approximately 1-in-20 people with the disease is under the age of 65?
Globally, dementia is one of the biggest challenges we face, with nearly 50 million people living with dementia worldwide. To tackle this international dementia challenge, we need to work together and share best practice with one another.
While Alzheimer’s is a far too common disease among older people, it is not a normal part of the ageing process, and any signs of memory loss should be taken seriously. There may be no cure for Alzheimer’s, but it can be treated to reduce some symptoms.
